The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on Tuesday that it has revoked the banking licence of Ajantha Urban Co-operative Bank Maryadit, located in Aurangabad. The decision was made due to the bank's insufficient capital and lack of viable earning prospects.
As a result, the bank has ceased all banking operations effective from the close of business on April 22, 2025.
Additionally, the RBI has requested the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Maharashtra, to initiate the process of winding up the bank and to appoint a liquidator for the same.
