India’s forex reserves rise by $4.5 billion to $702.28 billion

India’s foreign exchange reserves jumped by USD 4.496 billion to USD 702.28 billion for the week ended October 17, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday.

In the previous week, reserves had increased by USD 2.176 billion to USD 697.78 billion.

According to RBI data, foreign currency assets declined by USD 1.692 billion to USD 570.41 billion, while the overall rise was driven mainly by an increase in gold reserves.
