The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has signed an agreement with NAM InfoCom Private Limited to jointly develop a Mission Critical Communication System (MCX) solution, strengthening India’s indigenous communication infrastructure for public safety and emergency response.
Under C-DOT’s MCX Alliance, which includes 10 partner organisations — mainly startups — this collaboration aims to deliver a fully indigenous, 3GPP-compliant MCX solution supporting Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT), Data (MCData), and Video (MCVideo) services. The system will provide secure, low-latency, real-time communication over existing 4G and 5G networks for agencies involved in disaster management, law enforcement, and defense.
NAM InfoCom will develop the MC Video component to enhance the existing MCX platform, ensuring seamless integration and interoperability. While C-DOT will contribute its R&D and design expertise, NAM InfoCom will focus on system integration and customization for diverse operational scenarios. The project is fully funded under C-DOT’s Collaborative Research Programme (CCRP).
The MC Video solution will support multi-stream capabilities, recording, and scalable group or one-to-one video calls for first responders and critical infrastructure users.
C-DOT CEO Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay said the partnership aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and reinforces India’s efforts to create secure, reliable, and real-time communication systems for critical public safety and defense operations.
