PM Modi to Review Progress of Surat Bullet Train Station on November 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on November 15 to inspect the under-construction Bullet Train Station in Surat and review the progress of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), one of India’s most advanced infrastructure projects.

The 508-km corridor spans 352 km across Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and 156 km in Maharashtra, connecting major cities such as Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Thane, and Mumbai. Built with cutting-edge engineering standards, around 85% of the route—465 km—is on viaducts. So far, 326 km of viaducts and 17 of the 25 river bridges have been completed.

Once operational, the bullet train will cut travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to about two hours, significantly boosting business, tourism, and economic growth along the route.

The 47-km Surat–Bilimora stretch is nearing completion, with civil works and track-bed laying already finished. The Surat station, inspired by the city’s diamond industry, is designed with modern amenities including spacious lounges, restrooms, retail spaces, and seamless connectivity to the Surat Metro, city buses, and Indian Railways.
