The Government e Marketplace (GeM) welcomed a delegation of 24 senior government officials from 23 ITEC partner countries at its head office as part of a capacity-building initiative under its MoU with the Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management (AJNIFM).
The visit aimed to enhance international cooperation on digital public procurement reforms and showcased India’s progress in creating a transparent, efficient, and technology-driven procurement ecosystem. Delegates explored GeM’s key pillars — capacity-building, thought leadership, Communities of Practice, and global advocacy — which are designed to improve procurement performance and accessibility.
GeM CEO Mihir Kumar emphasized the platform’s commitment to building an efficient and inclusive procurement ecosystem where buyers and sellers engage transparently for national benefit.
The programme offered insights into GeM’s digital architecture, leading procurement practices, and the transformative impact of technology-led solutions across India. It also highlighted how GeM addresses challenges faced in traditional procurement systems.
The visit reaffirmed GeM’s dedication to promoting digital procurement reforms globally by sharing India’s expertise and supporting partner countries in adopting scalable and transparent procurement models.
