The rupee eased by three paise to close at 88.73 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, pressured by a stronger greenback and firm crude oil prices.
Forex traders noted that a rebound in domestic equities, driven by the ruling alliance’s sweeping victory in the Bihar polls, helped limit losses.
At the interbank forex market, the currency opened at 88.70 and touched an intra-day low of 88.75 against the dollar.
