India Highlights USD 25 Billion Telecom Components Opportunity at CII Summit

Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar on Friday urged global investors to tap into the USD 25 billion opportunity in India’s telecom component manufacturing sector.

Speaking at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Minister said India’s rapid progress over the past decade has been driven by policy reforms, decisive execution, and a major shift in entrepreneurial mindset under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He assured that the Ministry of Communications is ready to fast-track approvals and fully support new investments, adding that partnering with India means engaging with the world’s fastest-growing middle class and a long-term global growth engine. “India is not just riding the tide; India is the tide,” he remarked.

Highlighting reforms such as the ?1.4 trillion infrastructure push, PLI schemes, simplified labour laws, GST, and the IBC, he said India has transformed from a consumer to a trusted global creator.

Showcasing Andhra Pradesh as a leading investment destination, Dr. Shekhar credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for building strong industrial ecosystems. He noted the state's rise as a hub for IT, industry, automobiles, electronics, and biotechnology, supported by major ports, industrial land banks, renewable energy potential, and a governance model focused on speed and facilitation.

He added that with young ministers like Nara Lokesh and TG Bharath, Andhra Pradesh is “not just investment-ready but investment-hungry.”
