Retail Inflation Edges Up to 0.71% in November on Higher Food and Fuel Prices

Retail inflation rose to 0.71% in November, driven by higher prices of vegetables, protein-rich foods, and fuel, according to government data released on Friday.

The CPI-based inflation rate had slipped to a record low of 0.25% in October, aided by GST rate cuts and a favourable base effect.

Data from the National Statistics Office (NSO) showed that food inflation remained in deflation, though the pace narrowed to -3.91% in November, compared with -5.02% in October.
