The 15th edition of the Dream Runners Half Marathon (DRHM), sponsored by Hexaware for the seventh consecutive year, witnessed the participation of 7,339 runners in Chennai on July 19, 2026. One of the city's largest running events, the marathon underscored Hexaware's continued commitment to promoting health, community engagement, and social impact.
Preparations for the event began months in advance with free structured training sessions conducted across 14 Dream Runners chapters in Chennai. Participants in the 10K and 21.1K categories received guidance on endurance, strength, nutrition, recovery, and injury prevention.
The marathon also saw participation from personnel representing the defence, police, and civic services. As an AIMS-certified and professionally timed event, it catered to both competitive athletes and first-time runners. Volunteer ploggers were deployed along the route to help keep the course clean throughout the event.
The event raised over Rs. 50 lakh, with the proceeds being distributed among three non-profit organisations—Freedom Trust, Vijay Human Services, and the International Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Care (PCVC)—to support initiatives related to disability assistance, special education, and rehabilitation for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.
