Bharat Tex, PremiŠre Vision sign MoU to boost India-France textile and fashion ties

Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and PremiŠre Vision SA have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen collaboration between India and France across the textile and fashion industries.

The agreement, signed on September 2, 2026, in Paris, establishes a multi-year partnership covering trade, sourcing, design, sustainability and textile heritage. It aims to provide Indian manufacturers, exporters, designers and artisans greater access to international buyers, fashion houses and premium sourcing networks.

A key focus of the partnership will be to help Indian companies move beyond volume-led exports towards higher-value, design-driven and premium segments, supported by PremiŠre Vision’s global trend intelligence and sourcing network.

The collaboration also comes amid growing trade opportunities between India and the European Union. The proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement is expected to provide preferential market access for Indian exports, with the textile and apparel sector positioned to benefit from greater competitiveness in the European market.

Under the MoU, the two organisations will work on buyer-seller meets, export promotion, market intelligence, knowledge exchanges and sustainability initiatives. They will also collaborate on showcasing Indian and French textile heritage, including a planned “A Living Thread” presentation in January 2027 featuring Indian hand embroidery, handloom and other traditional crafts alongside French textile heritage.

The partnership is expected to strengthen India’s position as a sustainable, innovative and high-value sourcing destination for global fashion and textile markets while creating opportunities for artisans, weavers, designers, women entrepreneurs and MSMEs.
