Indian Railways has approved a new tri-weekly Amrit Bharat Express connecting Bhuj in Gujarat with Barauni in Bihar, providing an additional long-distance rail option between western and eastern India.
The train will cover around 2,532 km, linking major destinations across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Train No. 19427 Bhuj–Barauni Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Bhuj at 5:30 PM and arrive at Barauni at 4:05 AM. In the opposite direction, Train No. 19428 Barauni–Bhuj Amrit Bharat Express will leave Barauni at 11:55 PM and reach Bhuj at 1:15 PM.
The Bhuj–Barauni service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the return service will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The train will make commercial stops at several key stations, including Samakhiali, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bharatpur, Mathura, Hathras, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur, among others.
The new service is expected to strengthen long-distance passenger connectivity between Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, while providing travellers with another direct rail option between the western and eastern regions of the country.
