Tata Power Distribution obtains IMS certification

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company has said that it has been certified under the Integrated Management System (IMS) (ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, BS OHSAS 18001:2007), a globally accepted and recognized system.

“The certification substantiates execution excellence with quality, safety & environmental care for the benefit of business and key stakeholders including consumers,” the company informed in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

This is a befitting accolade to the distribution projects which has exhibited exemplary performance track record with safety and quality in achieving network expansion to the tune of 600-700 kilometers and installation of 85 to 100 consumer substations per year within record time as directed by Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Speaking on the accomplishment, Tata Power Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director Ashok Sethi said, “We at Tata Power are committed to operate our facilities in an environmentally sensitive and responsible manner and facilitate safe and healthy workplace to provide value to all our stakeholders. We are dedicated to continuously improving the Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety management practices in order to provide world class standards in all our facilities. This certification is another step towards our commitment as we move towards operational excellence.”

Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 59.60 apiece, down 1.57 per cent from the previous close at 14:42 hours on BSE.
