Automotive battery manufacturer Amara Raja Batteries today reported a 33 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 136.2 crore during the third quarter ended December 2015, led by overall strong performance.
The company had reported net profit of Rs 102.340 crore in the same quarter a year, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the quarter under review, total income of the company increased 15.4 per cent to Rs 1236.45 crore from Rs 1071.15 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Operating profit (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) in Q3 jumped 27.2 per cent to Rs 229 crore and margin expanded by 180 basis points to 18.7 per cent on yearly basis.
Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 864 apiece, down 1.40 per cent from the previous close at 15:15 hours on BSE.
