Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open on a weak note on April 24, influenced by negative cues as GIFT Nifty was trading around 24,260.50 earlier this morning.
Investors will closely monitor market reactions to India's recent diplomatic and economic measures in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives on Tuesday. The government has announced steps including suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, halting trade with Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah border, and cancellation of visas, among others.
On Wednesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 80116.49 up by 520.9 points or by 0.65 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24328.95 up by 161.7 points or by 0.67 %.
On the global front, Asian stocks traded in a tight range at the open Thursday as a global relief rally started to lose steam after mixed signals from the Trump administration on its plans for China tariffs.
Wall Street stocks advanced on Wednesday on revived hopes for progress in the US-China trade dispute and as President Donald Trump soothed fears the Federal Reserve could lose its autonomy with reassurances that he has "no intention of firing" Fed Chair Jerome Powell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 419.59 points, or 1.07%, to 39,606.57, the S&P 500 gained 88.10 points, or 1.67%, to 5,375.86 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 407.63 points, or 2.50%, to 16,708.05.
