Sensex down 260 points; M&M, Bajaj Finserv top losers

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Monday in-tandem with a weak trend in global markets and persistent foreign fund outflows.



Also, uncertainty over an India-US trade deal weighed on investors' sentiment, analysts said.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading 85007.28 down by -260.38 points or by -0.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25976.05 down by -70.9 points or by -0.27 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85156.83 and intraday low of 84840.32 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26007.2 and intraday low of 25904.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2789.10,+0.86%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2277.90,+0.75%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1603.60,+0.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1583.40,+0.28%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1676.75,+0.26%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3626.00,-1.44%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2064.55,-1.03%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1778.25,-0.89%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 838.50,-0.85%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 344.55,-0.83%), among others.



CDS index was at 60107.43 up by 173.43 points or by 0.29%. Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 13577.05,+1.45%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 933.00,+0.80%), Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1811.60,+0.79%), Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. (Rs. 481.50,+0.45%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1411.00,+0.14%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4120 , shares advanced were 2007 while 1868 shares declined and 245 were unchanged.
